Traditional Braces for Children and Teenagers

For families wishing to have their children treated while they are living in China or for permanent residents of Shanghai we offer all of the orthodontic treatment services you would expect to find in the United States. Although fees vary according to the severity of the conditions being treated and the length of time required for correction you can expect to pay a total of $5,900 USD for two to two and one half years of orthodontic treatment. This fee includes all costs associated with you orthodontic treatment such as xrays and models but does not include dental services such as tooth extraction or tooth cleaning. The fee can be paid in twelve equal monthly installments or with a larger down payment with the balance paid in equal monthly installments. We do not accept payment directly from insurance companies but will assist you in filing your claim with your carrier.  

Transfers:

The Shanghai Plan-Let AmeriChin be your Orthodontist- Patients who already have braces and wish to transfer their care to AmeriChin are invited to make an appointment for evaluation. There is no cost for this evaluation appointment. Typically we will need to take some radiographs, pictures, and dental study casts to plan the remainder of your treatment. There is a cost of 2000 RMB for these services as well as subsequent visits to AmeriChin for adjustment of the braces. Expect to pay about 15,000 RMB per year of treatment remaining.

The American Plan- Let AmeriChin work with your orthodontist – We understand that many foreign residents of Shanghai spend a good deal of time back in their home country. And, we know that many teenagers come to Shanghai already in braces. For patients who want to have their main orthodontist in their home country continue to coordinate their care we offer what we call “The American Plan”.  Here is what you get:

1.      A half hour appointment with the CWRU doctors during the months of September, November, January, March, and May.

2.      Emergency coverage by the Chinese doctors at AmeriChin for loose brackets and poking wires.

3.      One half hour video consultation with CWRU per year to discuss treatment progress or ask questions.

To be eligible you must:
1. Have your braces already on and be in active orthodontic treatment.

2. Have an orthodontist in your home country who is willing to work with AmeriChin by providing copies of your treatment records along with a detailed treatment plan.

In addition we suggest that you have your orthodontist supply you with a complete set of extra braces for the upper and lower teeth. Since braces some in variety of styles it is not possible for AmeriChin to keep all the styles on hand. We use the most common braces from 3M Corporation called 022 MBT. If your orthodontist uses this style then you do not need to bring extra braces with you.

The cost for The American Plan is 10,000 RMB per year or about $1250 USD, plus a onetime registration fee of 1800 RMB or about $250 USD.
