AmeriChin Orthodontics is an American style orthodontic clinic jointly sponsored by Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio and Jiong Tong University in Shanghai China. The goal of this partnership is to provide high quality orthodontic care to families living in China. The clinic is located in the Puxi district of Shanghai at 388 Dagu Road.

We have chosen to partner with Ninth Peoples Hospital to provide orthodontic services to families living in China because we believe that the doctors at Ninth People’s Hospital are the best trained dentists in China.  We understand that living abroad is challenging and at times frustrating.  We are always willing to listen to suggestions that will help us meet your expectations. We have designed AmeriChin to provide the level of orthodontic care found in the United States at a reasonable cost.  The cost of office space in Shanghai is similar to New York City or San Francisco. To defray some of the space cost of our clinic, we allow the facility at Dagu Road to be used by a group of Chinese Plastic Surgeons from Ninth Peoples Hospital. These plastic surgeons provide a wide variety of cosmetic surgery procedures. However, since the majority of the patients that seek these services are Chinese these surgeons and their staff do not speak English. AmeriChin is located on the second floor of the Dagu Road facility so you have to go up one flight of stairs to get to the AmeriChin part of the clinic. We are working to make the second floor as English friendly as we can.  And, the Chinese doctors  and staff working in AmeriChin can all speak English. We are hoping to hire an English speaking Treatment Coordinator during the coming year to streamline your experience at AmeriChin.

Doctors from CWRU are in Shanghai during the months of September, November, January, March, and May. The doctors leave the USA on a Thursday and arrive in Shanghai Friday evening. Scheduled patients are seen beginning on Saturday morning at 8am. The doctors from CWRU will see all registered patients for thirty-minute appointments. Scheduling is done via email or by calling the clinic and leaving your contact information.  Doctors from Ninth Peoples Hospital staff the AmeriChin clinic all year round and appointments can be scheduled from 9am until 5pm Monday through Sunday. Doctors are assigned to AmeriChin on a rotating basis so we recommend that you try to have your appointments with the same doctor from Ninth Peoples Hospital every time you come to the clinic.
